Fourth Annual Monte-Carlo Gala for Planetary Health
While the world is battling the most severe pandemic in decades and experiencing an unprecedented crisis, our lives have drastically changed and an outstanding global solidarity movement is rising. In these uncertain times, there is at least one indisputable certainty: it is time for us to listen to our Planet and refuse to go back to “business as usual”. Health is our very first human right. Our modern societies rely on healthy ecosystems to support healthy communities, local livelihoods and prosperity. Yet, infectious diseases are on the rise, together with unprecedented levels of deforestation, overfishing and biodiversity loss across the world. Scientists and experts estimate that more than 70% of all emerging infectious diseases are interlinked with the health of ecosystems.
To address this crucial challenge, HSH Prince Albert of Monaco has gathered leading philanthropists, decision makers, artists and talents, great intellectual and scientific figures on September 24th 2020, for the Monte-Carlo Gala for Planetary Health.
The Gala was held at the Terraces of the Opera Garnier in the Principality of Monaco last September 24th, and the event was hosted by HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco.
Award-winning musician and environmental activist Sting and the Monte Carlo Red Cross were honored during the Gala, while raising support for Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation Initiatives for Ocean, Earth and Humanity. Science, Arts, Cinema, Music and Fashion have joined forces to mobilize widely and launch the Foundation’s concrete initiatives to bridge the widening gap between health and environment.
The Ferrari Group and the Giorgio Deiana Foundation are extremely delighted to have been chosen as Supporter by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and by the organization of the Annual Gala, further cementing a very prestigious Partnership with the Principality, recognizing Ferrari for its expertise in the global logistics and Customs management for high-end luxury goods.
